Requirements:
- Grade 12 / Senior Certificate (NQF Level 4)
- Valid PSIRA Grade A Security Certificate
- 3 years’ supervisory experience in a security environment
- Valid driver’s licence (must be disclosed)
- Computer literacy (MS Office)
Added Advantages:
- National Diploma in Security Management
- National Key Point Certificate
- Valid SAPS firearm competency (Rifle, Shotgun, and Pistol)
Knowledge & Skills:
- Knowledge of security legislation (e.g. MISS, Protection of Information Act)
- Understanding of emergency procedures and Occupational Health & Safety
- Ability to interpret and apply security policies and directives
- Strong communication, interpersonal, and report writing skills
- Analytical thinking and problem-solving abilities
- Conflict management skills
- Ability to work under pressure
- Willingness to travel and work extended hours
- Ability to work effectively in a team and interact at all levels
Duties:
- Implement security policies in line with relevant legislation and directives
- Conduct threat and risk analysis
- Ensure compliance with firearm regulations
- Manage deployment and overall functioning of security operations
- Implement emergency procedures and contingency plans
- Conduct site inspections at offices and official residences
- Safeguard departmental assets
- Investigate security incidents and breaches
- Liaise with agencies such as:
- National Intelligence Agency (NIA)
- South African Police Service (SAPS)
- Other security stakeholders and DWS National Security Manager
- Coordinate security awareness and training programmes
- Ensure protection of personnel, assets, and information in line with MISS/MPSS
- Supervise staff and manage performance
- Manage contracts of private security service providers
- Provide operational and administrative support on security matters
- Conduct vetting, risk assessments, and compile security reports
- Carry out investigations when required
